tbone didn't quite get it

After seeing the little house that my great grandfather and grandfather built, I read this book. It looks just like it and the story my mom tells of her neighborhood is similar to the house in "The Little House"...the town grows up around what once was a country house. I read this to Tbone and instead of feeling the sadness of the growing city that the author tries to convey, Tom just got more and more excited. First there are wagons, then trucks, then highways with cars then trains, trams and underground trains... ha ha
