Joey, our Safe Family baby, is no longer with us. Gratefully, his collaborative painting still hangs on our wall.

This was the collaborative work that Chad and the kids did. The upper right hand corner is Joey's face... Joey and Tom are painting the left hand corner and the girls worked on the bottom.... It was by Joey and of Joey.

Dominique comes to stay for awhile

By God's grace, we've taken in a newborn. She has piano hands, superstar lips, and a swirl of black silk on her head. Abi is territorial--watch out! I'm opening my heart...knowing I don't know what the outcome will be. Her mom could pull things together any day. Are we insane? Part of me says, Yes! I need at least two weeks to prepare for a newborn not 12 hours! I have three little kids already.... but heart says, "No". And Chad says to remember we are to look after the widows and the orphans. Imperfect marriage, imperfect family, unready--here we go on God's rollercoaster of life, ready for Him to hold our hand when we go upside down!
