The week of Jesus' passion has begun

Passion week is a favorite of mine.

Today we read the story in the action Bible...

 and now for some coloring:

"What color was Jesus, mom?"  Always an important question.  We looked in our book of Israel, but the question isn't so easily answered.  There are Ethiopian Jews today, there are Jews from all over the world.. but she decided he was light brown :-)

Holidays are such opportunity to pass the faith.

Garden Party #4 "The Wind and Waves Obey Him"

We invited two neighbor girls for dinner and our Wind &Waves Garden Party. Wind and Waves is part of our devotional for the Easter Season.

The girls helped set the scene.  Bethan cooked fish and garlic bread, Abigail made apple boats, Aziza found a few water themed toys.  We added to that fishy crackers and pretzel nets.  They love the whale scene.

This week we also had the opportunity to share with some boys in the neighborhood who joined us for grilled hamburgers.  We told the story of how Jesus also grilled out with friends, but on the beach after he gave his disciples a great miraculous catch of fish!!

Ps 45

Psalm 45 tells about the bride queen,"...All glorious is the princess within her chamber; her gown is interwoven with gold. In embroidered garments she is led to the king; her virgin companions follow her and are brought to you. They are led in with joy and gladness;they enter the palace of the king." Matthew Henry confirms the meaning of this passage, "This psalm is an illustrious prophecy of Messiah the Prince: it is all over gospel, and points at him only, as a bridegroom espousing the church to himself and as a king ruling in it and ruling for it." How exciting that we have a God who expresses his love for us with such beauty! I wanted my girls to understand how God truly sees them as princesses with gowns "embroidered" and "interwoven with gold" so I was ecstatic to find the above dresses at Old Navy! They'll be perfect for Easter AND to illustrate this wonderful truth.
