My Fav Fashion vlogs 2020

I am getting so much help from these fashion vlogs.  They are christian women who value modesty, practicality and looking classy.  I enjoy exploring:

THE FEMININE HOUSEWIFE

THE DAILY CONNOISSEUR

There is so much help for today's christian woman who wants to dress modestly and look good.  Back in the day, we were on our own trying to figure this out and find our way.  Even ten years ago it was hard to find a modest website.  But these days, the boutiques have exploded and there are so many options out there. Inspired by the Daily Connoisseur, I invested in a modest and practical yet feminine brown floral from ROOLEE.  Its my "onesie" and I love it for busy days.  I just throw it on with fleece tights and boots and go.

She also inspired me to use a little worn dress I had bought for a wedding, for an everyday dress.  Now I layer the grey knit knee length dress with fleece tights, black booties, a warm cardigan and a thick scarf.  Its getting so much use now!!

Hana and Nathanel's wedding...the grey knit that sat in my closet for two years!

How to win a daughter's heart in one afternoon

This devotional takes all the work out of planning an awesome special time with your tween.  And, its a really fun way to talk to them about purity, beauty, and their value in Christ.

Bethan and I left the farm and headed to the TeaHaus in Ann Arbor, Michigan.  We listened to a fun podcast from Dannah Gresh in the car.  She told a story about being molded by God like a potter makes a beautiful porcelain teacup.   We arrived at the Teahaus and as we walked in the door, a shower of flower petals fell on us!

We ordered some delicious dainties and I gave her a hand massage...then she unwrapped her fine porcelain teacup.  I loved the lily of the valley flowers on it...

After chatting, I gave her an object lesson.  Three cups: one paper, one diner mug, and a porcelain teacup show how the world may see us.  They also show how we represent ourselves.  Our words and actions either be paper, mug or china.  Then we did the Girl Gab and rated each other...
The girl gab brought out some surprising results!  I remember when Abi and I did it, I was able to hone in on steps I needed to take with her and she realized steps she needed to take to grow.  But it was silly and fun and bonding then, and with Bethan, too.

At this point, I knew my parking was running out and probably would get a ticket, but I didn't want to ruin the moment and run out!

My quality time girl felt loved

And I got a parking ticket!

Now only 7 more to go!  Next time its the spa!

Chad's bedtime lesson for our kids...1 Timothy 2:9

"I also want women to dress modestly, with decency and propriety, not with braided hair or gold or pearls or expensive clothes but with good deeds, appropriate for women who profess to worship God...." (1 Tim. 2:9 NIV)

to which we wondered if we sd throw away my wedding ring, and stop braiding Aziza's hair???

 until we read:

3 (D)Your adornment must not be merely external—braiding the hair, and wearing gold jewelry, or putting on dresses; 4 but let it be (E)the hidden person of the heart, with the imperishable quality of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is precious in the sight of God.  (1 Peter 3)

Whew! We thought "merely" gave us some lee way....  I was surprised to search for a woman of that time period and find this painting above--as far as decoration goes...its not much more than what were used to. That being said, his examples and specifics, aren't the point, really... but the decency/modesty/propriety plus good works and a gentle spirit.
