When Nehemiah rebuilt the wall, he told the people to hold a hammer in one hand and a sword in the other. When we are rebuilding the broken places in our families, when we are rebuilding the devastations of generations...
"Then they will rebuild the ancient ruins, They will raise up the former devastations; And they will repair the ruined cities, The desolations of many generations." Is 61:4
...making new habits and doing things differently, we need to build with an eye out for warfare. We need to be ready to fight the generational curses that roll down in the form of lies. Cultural lies and lies about your identity will come against you. Lies that tell you what you need to do and what you need to be to be happy in life.
To discern the lies, you have to know his Word and you have to know HIM.
His kingdom is not of this world. Its opposite--its opposed on many levels. We so often follow culture not Christ. We see others and copy them. We don't see Him.
Jesus layed down his life as a sacrifice and calls us to be living sacrifices. He loved us, so that we might love.
The kingdom is about Him and His plans not me and mine. Its about His goals, his way-- not mine. Its about trusting results to Him and finding satisfaction in obedience to the will of God. We may never know or see the results fully of our obedience. And the results we see may not be the results we wanted. He holds it ALL in His hands.
Wives and mothers, hear him call your name. He is calling you to lay down your life as a living sacrifice. This is the call. This is your destiny. Don't settle for less. He says if you seek His kingdom first it will all be added unto you. Don't seek to promote yourself, to advance yourself, to self actualize yourself. We die that we might live. Its in the little things. Its dying in the little things. We don't want to serve in small ways our families. We are tired of wiping tables and little bums.
Listen! God sees. God sees when you give a cup of cold water to a little one in his name.
And whoever in the name of a disciple gives to one of these little ones even a cup of cold water to drink, truly I say to you, he shall not lose his reward.” Mt 10:42
