As part of the Five in a Row (FIAR) series for K-2, I read "Clown of God"to Tbone. I didn't always like Tomie DePaolo, but I've grown to like his themes and illustrations.
Tbone surprisingly REALLY enjoyed this book. The drama of the old clown dying at the end always captivates him, "Why did he just fall down, mom?" I love how the book affirms that creativity brings glory to God without having to be "religious" in nature.
