I love Eric Sloane's Weather book. He has such interesting folklore to explain nature. Today the kids measured wind direction and we read poems like:
"Winds that swing against the sun,
And winds that bring the rain are one.
Winds that swing round with the sun,
Keep the rain storm on the run."
His illustrations really help me understand esoteric concepts like I wrote on the board ;-)
Bethan is plotting our spring flower garden...
These mini greenhouses were her idea as well. They have helped us grow two cuke plants, but were wondering about the brown edges now. Maybe we hardened them off too quickly? Maybe the drop in temp last night? Trying to figure it out...
