Home by Holly Kimball

The cornerstone of society
The birthplace & sustainer of love
          The heart's nest
               The spouse's rest
                      Home.

My hands make it
     My vision shapes it
          My perseverance keeps
               This humble
                    Home.

Minute tasks Repetitive motions
     Momentous Goals take Devotion
          Master builder of
                 My Home.

Will I flee to make a name
and seek appreciation in financial gain
          and leave behind
                my home?

Forsaken love collects dust and grime
     rodents eat what they find
           leftovers of another time
               dim lights, cold meals
                     hearts have all left
                      My home.

No!  My light will burn a little longer
sweep up crumbs, wipe down counters
Breathe life in little ones and fill my own~
all who live in My home.

That was me, Beth :) Thought I had changed it so it wouldn't say Brian's name any more...

Beautiful piece of writing, the sentiments are ageless, and inspiring!
